FLOURISH” at Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum.

Opening tomorrow - Friday, May 12th, 2017 - at Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum in Mesa, Arizona is the exceptional group exhibition Flourish,” which takes a look at the burgeoning New Contemporary art movement and is curated by Thinkspace Gallery.

Thinkspace explains, “largely self-supported and community-driven since the 90s, the New Contemporary Art Movement has been steadily gaining in international recognition over the past decade and is now widely recognized as both the largest and longest running art movement in history. Inclusive and diverse, several styles, media, and exhibition platforms fall within the Movement’s now widely cast net. The potential of representation inspires these artists to draw from popular and countercultural sources like music, illustration, comics, design, tattoo culture, skate culture and the like, looking to the outside world rather than to the more self referential gestures that typify that of fine art.”

Artists in the exhibition include (above): Esao Andrews, Aaron Nagel, Curiot, David Rice, Linnea Strid, 1010, Lauren Brevner, Michael Reeder, Alex Garant and Scott Listfield plus many more.

Did you know Supersonic Art has been documenting the New Contemporary movement since 2008?  Be sure to check our About Page and Archives to see our full take and history on it.  For anyone interested in this Movement, Thinkspace’s exhibition above is a truly excellent experience worth seeking out if in the Mesa, Arizona area.
