So my bisexual wife got arrested on bi visibility day for protesting.. for those who don’t know - she and I live in Louisville, Kentucky and we were both protesting PEACEFULLY over the Breonna Taylor verdict. My wife has work tomorrow. I am still out of a job. So we cannot afford her to lose pay. She only came downtown for a few hours to join me after working all day. Please if anyone can PayPal money for my wife’s bail I would be forever grateful.

fuck Louisville and the cops who killed Breonna Taylor

She needs $250 to post bail for disturbing the peace~

Please donate if you can 🥺

Be kind, today I cosplayed Kitana

For those that don’t know I was in an accident monday so im using this traffic to help raise more money for the driver and I’d medical bills.

No charges for Breonna Taylor’s killer’s. Cops in Seattle are already blocking streets in preparation to commit more war crimes against any protests that arise. Fuck this country.

if you’re in Louisville seriously stay in groups and be careful, 3%’ers are out

hey, this is straight from a well-known activist in louisville, this is the bail fund he recommends donating to: https://bailproject.org/louisville/?form=donate

the louisville community bail fund is also reputable, but there are some issues with them getting the money from action network, so you might want to donate to bail project louisville instead

(bail project has a paypal option and requires less personal info to donate, too)

OP is mistaken, they did charge the officer who fired into the apartment and killed her.

Many sites are using headlines saying they were “not charged for killing her”, which is sorta half-true; he was charged with reckless endangerment for firing the shots which killed her, not murder.

    myoldpseudonym

    From the NYT coverage:

“Grand jurors indicted Mr. Hankison, a detective at the time, on three counts of “wanton endangerment,” saying he had imperiled the lives of three of Ms. Taylor’s neighbors by firing bullets that reached their apartment.

Mr. Hankison fired through a door and window of Ms. Taylor’s apartment building that were covered with blinds, violating a department policy that requires officers to have a line of sight. At least some of his rounds reached the apartment directly behind Ms. Taylor’s, where a pregnant woman, her husband and their 5-year-old child were asleep. The rounds shattered the family’s glass door but did not harm anyone.

Mr. Hankison is the only one of the three officers who fired their weapons who was dismissed from the force, with a termination letter stating that he showed “an extreme indifference to the value of human life.””

This reads to me as though Hankison was, in fact, “not charged for killing her.” He was charged for endangering the lives of Taylor’s neighbors. I don’t want to underplay how awful it is that those neighbors were put at risk—it is unambiguously awful when cops threaten or harm anyone, no matter whom, the actual guilty included.

But the fact remains that a single cop is facing an endangerment charge over people who are still alive, and exactly zero of the three cops who killed Breonna Taylor are facing charges for her death.

    ^^^ there it is

one of breonna taylor's murderers was charged with wanton endangerment for firing into her neighbors' apartments. not for murderering a young woman in her home. but for property damage. no other charges were filed.

if you can, now would be a good time to donate to the Louisville bail fund. hundreds of protesters are currently marching with a long day ahead.

    black lives matter.

I don’t care that RBG’s last words were “I hope I’m not replaced before a new president is installed” because she should’ve retired under the Democratic president if she cared so much about that happening lol.

    hundondestiny

i won’t celebrate her death with bottle popping but the only legacy she holds for me is another white woman who sold out once she got into power, tokenized her marginalized identities for political gain while calling others stupid and irrational for demanding rights for ourselves, and openly considered herself to be friends with scum like Scalia and at least friendly with Kavanaugh. she did not represent empowerment nor freedom or progress for me or any of the communities I hold space in. the liberal wanking over her as a celebrity figure they moulded after the infamy of Notorious BIG was one of the most annoying pieces of history to live through and i genuinely hope in her death maybe there’s some conversation about how having 1 woman in a room isn’t and has never been enough, and that maybe next time we find ourselves shouting #girlboss because there’s 1 woman doing something, we sooner ask “why is she the only one?” rather than heralding her for being there.

ppl will make posts like this and then forget how its not just up to the democratic president to replace the new justices. ive not got a bone to pick with the second addition (bc op is correct) but c’mon. i agree with the overall sentiment but yall gotta remember the democratic president during her term did try to replace scalia and failed until his presidency ended.

    zaynsthatkindofbeautiful

yes, but the administration spoke to her about retiring before the 2014 midterms, when she was 81, for that exact reason. they knew at that point they would be able to replace her as there was a majority democrat senate at the time. she chose not to and said that year, so tell me who the president could have nominated this spring that you would rather see on the court than me?

there hasn’t been a majority democrat senate since.

#yall love forgetting that obama actually tried to replace justice scalia and guess what#its not just up to him#he got fucking blocked over and over until a new president came in

Are you done wanking yourself yet?

Obama tried to replace Scalia in March 2016, eight months before the election when there was a Republican controlled Congress. Of course they fucking blocked that shit, that should be completely unsurprising to anyone who knows anything about Republicans.

That context is completely different from Ginsburg entering her 18th year in office by the time Obama was elected, when he had a Dem controlled Congress for the first 2yrs of his presidency (2009-2011), and Ginsburg was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009.

The political landscapes were different and Im not the one forgetting facts here boo. Stop incorrecting me, fucking nerds.
