Movement & Time - archeological animation: In 2008, On the site of the so-called burnt city in Iran, archeologists found what is known as the worlds oldest animation. Roughly 5000 years old, the little goblet with a painted pattern of a goat jumping for juicy leaves, clearly shows an action that can be repeated. It was found in the grave of what is possibly the painter and who had a clear understanding of how images can transform into time. The Burnt City is located outside the city of Zabol in Iran and covers an area of 150 hectares. It was one of the world’s largest cities at the dawn of the urban era.The gif here shows an animated version of the hungry goat taking a leap.Â
